“Do your very best to build a good car, if you win, all the better”, is the challenge to all people. All ages can participate in the Rewind to the Fifties Pinewood Derby Race when the checkered flag is dropped at 10 am on June 20 at the Broadway Elementary School gym in Denison, Iowa.

Pinewood Derby car kit can be purchased at the Chamber and Development Council office for $5. If a person doesn’t $5, they should talk to anyone in the CDC office about one of the corporate sponsors (scholarships). People who plan to use a pre-used or pre-made car should stop at the CDC office or call 263-5621 to enter a proven racer. Prizes for Fastest Car, Best Paint Job, Most Unique, Best Workmanship, and Best Design will be awarded.

If the deafening roar of wooden horsepower and the sound of tiny squealing tires aren’t your thing then maybe horse shoes is your game? Old or young; male or female, enter the Horse Shoe Tossing contest at Washington Park at noon on June 20. Call or stop at the CDC office to enter. Prizes will be awarded for highest scores.

Don’t forget to RSVP to 263-5621 to attend the Vintage Style Show and Luncheon at the Donna Reed Theatre from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday June 20.
