Friday, March 5, as part of Atlanta Motor Speedway’s annual Scout Day at the Races, eight Cub Scouts from the Boy Scouts of America’s Flint River Council met, talked, and raced their Pinewood Derby cars with four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon.

The eight Cub Scouts who met with Gordon are:

• Kristopher Assing, a Wolf Scout from Pack 267 in Stockbridge, GA

• Christian Bostic, a Tiger Scout from Pack 412 in Griffin, GA.

• Samuel Esterline, a Webelos Scout from Pack 118 in Fayetteville, GA. No. 24 car.

• Will Harper, a Wolf Scout from Pack 47 in Newnan, GA.

• Adam Knell, a Webelos Scout from Pack 66 in McDonough, GA

• Caleb Moss, a Webelos Scout from Pack 168 in McDonough, GA.

• Jared Oenick, a Webelos Scout from Pack 55 in Newnan, GA.

• Alex Pecoraro, a Webelos Scout from Pack 71 in Fayetteville, GA.

On March 6 and 7, 2010, prior to the Camping World Truck Series and Sprint Cup Series races, Boy Scouts from Flint River Council presented the colors during prerace flag-raising ceremonies.
